At PV Hills, we believe that children learn most effectively through an active exploration and interaction with their environment, and their partnership with parents and teachers.

We encourage children to explore and deepen their natural interests by moving through our indoor and outdoor learning environments, engaging in various activities located throughout the school.

PV Hills offers an enriching environment that excites interest in discovery, connection, critical thinking, & the joy of learning.

At Palos Verdes Hills Nursery School:

  • There is a focus on self-worth and self-understanding
  • We are mindful & appreciate the unique personality of each child and support them to progress at their own rate in all areas of development
  • Children learn to express their feelings & find new ways to regulate their emotions
  • Child and parent develop new friendships in a nurturing & supportive environment
  • Children are encouraged to make their own decisions & navigate their learning within safe and comfortable limits
  • Children are guided in constructing their knowledge in concepts & areas in which they are interested

We maintain at least a 4:1 child-to-adult ratio to ensure the safety and support of each child and to establish a 1:1 connection as often as possible.

PV Hills fosters friendships and a warm sense of community. Families and teachers work together to make the school a happy, wonderful place to play and learn.

We offer challenging and engaging experiences to support children’s changing interests and needs. The program increases in complexity throughout the year as the children develop their understanding & skills.

Parents have the unique opportunity to be involved and witness the exciting growth and development of their child alongside peers.
