Please take a moment to review our admissions process. As part of a cooperative school, parents take an active role in our community.  It is vital for parents to understand our philosophy, our program, and the parent responsibilities in order to determine whether PV Hills is a good fit for their family.  Please be sure to read through our whole website, especially the parent responsibilities/requirements to make sure we are a good fit for your family.

Before submitting an Admissions Request:

Fill out our Contact Form to connect with us.

Then follow the below two steps, depending on when you are inquiring about admissions:

***If you are interested in the upcoming school year (September-June) and you are reading this before February 1st:

  1. Attend our Open House Event on Saturday, January 27, 2024 from 10am-12pm (Typically held on the last Saturday in January). Benefits to coming to Open House:
    • To become better acquainted with our philosophy, programs, community, and environment.
    • To observe how your child interacts in our indoor and outdoor environments.
    • To meet our teaching team and current families attending PV Hills on a more personal level.
  2. Attend our Prospective Parent Meeting: Held virtually via Zoom on February 15, 2024 from 7:30pm-9pm (Typically a Thursday evening in the middle of February).
    • Prospective parents are required to attend our information meeting. Our director and board members will provide you with detailed information about PV Hills, its programs, philosophies and responsibilities.
    • This meeting will further provide you with the opportunity to see if PV Hills is the right fit for your family.
    • At the Prospective Parent meeting, you will have the opportunity to submit your Admissions Request Form.

**If you are interested in the upcoming school year (September-June) and you are reading this after February 1st:

  1. Come tour our school.  Tours are scheduled once a month (February through June or as needed). Please note that our membership committee is run by parent volunteers and they will contact you as soon as possible.
  2. If you are interested in proceeding with admissions following your tour, you will be invited to watch the pre-recorded Prospective Parent Meeting. After watching the Meeting, you are welcome to submit your Admissions Request at PV Hills.

After submitting an Admissions Request:

  • Acceptance of Enrollment – If selected for admissions, you will be notified by the Membership Committee via a welcome email that includes your welcome letter and membership packet.  Once you have finished the packet, you will turn it in with a $300 non-refundable deposit. (These due dates will be in your enrollment letter).
  • Those who did not receive an acceptance for enrollment will be added to our interest list and will be notified if/when a space is available.

Please Note: To be considered for enrollment, all families must read through the website, come for a tour (Open House or School tour depending on timing) and learn about the school and its requirements through the Prospective Parent Meeting (Live or Recorded).  A goodness of fit between the school and its families is vital for the well being of the school community.

Admissions Decision

There are many factors that affect admissions decisions, but the most critical is the number of spaces available in each class. Current families notify us in early March regarding their intention to return next year. Once we have the number of available spots, we begin the process of filling classes. During the admissions placement process, the admissions team works to build each class.

Applicants with siblings currently attending PV Hills are given preference. Special consideration is offered to alumni families, legacy families, and applicants who are on the interest list.

Once the admissions decisions are made, families will be notified by mid March. While we would ideally be able to offer admission to everyone applying, the disappointing truth is that we get more applications than there are spaces available. This is where the interest list comes in.

Interest List

If we are unable to offer your child a spot, you will have the opportunity to join the Interest List. When a space becomes available in a class, we go to the list to fill the spot.

What are our Chances?

Another question that often comes up is “What are our chances?” This is a difficult question to answer because a) it is difficult to determine how many, if any, spaces will become available and b) we don’t want to get anyone’s hopes up. It is our experience that there are families, who, in the Spring, indicate that they will be attending next year but over the Summer need to change their plans and relinquish their child’s spot in the class. Some years, we have a great deal of “movement”; other years, very little. Some classes may see more movement than others. It is impossible to predict, but we try our absolute best to accommodate and consider each interested family.
